Yves Nazon II

Open Healthware Postdoc

Yves is an engineer by training and global citizen by choice, who has a deep seeded interest in health-related technologies. Yves received his PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, where he focused on identifying properties of the human knee so that these properties could be recreated in wearable robots, such as prosthetics and exoskeletons, giving them more human like behavior. He has also obtained master’s and bachelor's degrees from Northwestern University and the University of Maryland Baltimore County respectively. Currently, Yves is a researcher at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where he studies biomechanical based outcomes for soldiers who have experienced extremity trauma. Yves’ passion for equity and inclusion across wide swaths of people is what drew him to OSHWA, and he hopes to channel that passion into creating products that broadens access to both the open-source hardware community and health related technologies for all.
